Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp Bone Suckin’® Hot Seasoning & Rub
  • 1 Large Onion
  • 2 Cups Buttermilk
  • 2 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 Qt Peanut Oil
  • Sea Salt and Pepper

Equipment

  • 1 Baking dish
  • 1 Large resealable bag
  • 1 Deep pot
  • 1 Frying thermometer

Method

  1. Slice the onion very thin. Place in a baking dish, cover with buttermilk and soak for at least an hour.
  2. Mix all of the dry ingredients in a large resealable bag.
  3. Heat the oil in a deep pot to 375˚ F. (It is important to keep the oil this hot, so use a frying thermometer.)
  4. Place some of the onions in the bag and shake, coating the onions. Place the onions into the hot oil and fry until they are golden brown. Let the oil heat back up to 375˚ F and repeat until all of the onion is fried. Enjoy!

Notes

This is a great recipe that goes nicely with sliders and chili. It tastes amazing with Bone Suckin’® Spicy Dip.
